Can the next person find the same defect?
A split seam photo can show the defect yet omit its location. We record the affected roof area and enough surrounding detail to identify the connection again. Similar curbs or outlets need distinct location records. The report can then explain whether the finding concerns field membrane, an adjoining vertical transition, the outlet connection or another component that requires a separate representative.
We describe the visible condition in plain construction terms. A lifted flashing edge, loose fastener or deteriorated seal is more useful than a general label that the roof is bad. Where a covering conceals the supporting layers, we state the further examination needed to settle a relevant question. Keeping located findings with the building roof record helps an owner compare later observations with the same construction, rather than interpret each new photograph without its earlier context.
